Dr. Thomas S. Monahan III, Former UCSF Vascular Surgery Clinical Fellow and Wiley Scholar, Dies at 44

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the untimely passing of Thomas S. Monahan, MD, FACS of Baltimore, MD. Dr. Monahan was Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Maryland, working under the leadership of Dr. Rajabrata Sarkar, a former UCSF faculty member. Dr. Monahan completed his Vascular Surgery fellowship here at UCSF between 2008-2010. He was a committed educator and surgeon-scientist with active NIH R01 funding, and a prior winner of the Wylie Scholar Award. Tom’s passing is a tragic loss to the vascular surgery community and to the Wylie Society of UCSF vascular alumni.
